Olderfleet

Mirvac with Grimshaw Architects & Carr

The journey of Olderfleet follows Melbourne’s dynamic progress as a city constructed in the late 1800’s at the height of the land boom the Olderfleet, Record Chambers and New Zealand Chambers buildings symbolise the commercial and financial power of Melbourne at that time. They became the focus of the burgeoning heritage movement of the 1970’s in the campaign by the National Trust to save the Gothic streetscape of Collins Street.

Mirvac, with a host of partners, have created a new workplace that rises out of the heritage-listed buildings. The design, by award-winning architects, Grimshaw, sets a new precedence for adaptive heritage and workplace integration in Australia, with the original heritage buildings a focal point for the entire precinct, celebrated throughout the building.

Underpinning each aspect of Olderfleet is Mirvac’s unwavering commitment to sustainability. As a result, Olderfleet was also the first building in the country to achieve a Platinum Core and Shell Pre-Certification from the International WELL Building Institute, which recognises excellence in delivering healthy buildings and improving tenant wellbeing in a sustainable work environment. Olderfleet has been designed to achieve a 6 Star Green Star rating, 5 Star NABERS Energy rating, and 4 Star NABERS Water rating.
