Sustainable Trends In Education Design

After 10 years of standing as a beacon of innovation and sustainability on the University of Wollongong campus, the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre (SBRC) is Australia’s most sustainable building, being the first – and still the only – building in Australia to achieve Living Building Challenge (LBC) accreditation, a testament to its dedication to pushing the boundaries of regenerative building practices while establishing its role as a trailblazer in sustainable architecture. So, with a decade’s worth of data, just what did we learn?

  • Outline the history of the SBRC as a leader in the creation of ideas and solutions regarding sustainability 
  • Identify the latest ideas regarding sustainable development 
  • Explain how Australia’s journey on the path to sustainable development is progressing and outline what more needs to be done to get us where we need to be
